Now, to the photojournalists. This account is not run by a photojournalistic professional, so if we are misinformed any correction is greatly appreciated. Many of the photos in =jazzylemonade's gallery (one of the photojournalism nominees) display obvious manipulation.

However, it is our policy that any person may be applicable for any category if they are nominated by a person other than themselves as long as:

The are not a banned member of deviantART
Their work is not stolen etc or in breech of the DeviantART T&C
They have at least one deviation in the relevant category.


The above definition of manipulation is all I have to go on, so, like I said, if this is wrong for this category please calmly explain and try to remain civil. We are on no one's "side".


To our knowledge the following photos may fall under the category of being edited (correction or enhancement) but not manipulated.



I personally have a very high regard for some of the people who have put forth this complaint, but more information is required before I can discount this nomination.

If one photograph in this deviants gallery is applicable, then the nomination stands. However, have some faith in your community. Photojournalists will vote, photojournalists will know what counts and what doesnt.



If the response to this journal says that no single photograph in this gallery can be justified as photojournalism, I will consider removing it.




I hope that this response is considered fair. I wish to keep this account open and unbiased and run by public thought. Public nomination and public vote without censorship. I shall be very disapointed if this issue cannot be resolved peacefully, and if it escalates. But I do believe that the people who have put forth this complaint have good reason to be concerned, and have expressed their concern in a mature manner.

To summarise, this deviant is not being disqualified unless none of their gallery is classified as photojournalism. In which case they would, indeed, be disqualified from that category.
